Human AI Voice Actor

Human AI voice actor for apps, GPS, smart devices & virtual assistants

I’m Shannon Scott, a professional voice actor who performs the human voice behind AI styled characters and systems, GPS navigation, smart devices, virtual assistants, and sci-fi computer voices, with the warmth, direction, and consistency a synthetic voice can’t offer on its own.

What Is a Human AI Voice Actor?

A real performer behind the voice you hear from a machine

A human AI voice actor is a trained performer who records the voice behind AI styled characters and digital systems, a GPS system, a smart speaker, a fictional virtual assistant in a commercial or film, a sci-fi computer voice. It’s genuine acting work, directed, performed, and delivered by a real person, not a text to speech engine generating audio on its own.

This is different from text to speech, which stitches together pre-recorded fragments or generates entirely synthetic audio from a written prompt. A human AI voice actor gives you a real performance you can direct in real time, matched precisely to the tone, pace, and personality your project needs, then delivered consistently take after take.

My Position on AI

Real performance, on my own terms

I love voicing AI styled characters and systems, GPS voices, smart devices, sci-fi computers, virtual assistant roles for commercials and film. That’s genuine character and voiceover work, and I bring the same craft to it as anything else I record.

What I don’t do is hand my voice over for open ended AI training or voice cloning, a model built from my voice that could then be used indefinitely, in ways I never agreed to or directed. Every project I take on is scoped, directed, and delivered by me personally. If a company needs specific recorded prompts for a real conversational system, I’m open to discussing that too, on fair, clearly defined terms.

This position is aligned with the National Association of Voice Actors’ fAIr Voices campaign, built around three principles: consent, control, and compensation, whenever AI and voice work intersect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions, direct answers

What is a human AI voice actor?

A human AI voice actor is a real performer who records the voice behind AI styled characters and systems, like a GPS system, a smart device, or a fictional virtual assistant, rather than a synthetic, computer generated voice.

What’s the difference between a human AI voice actor and text to speech?

Text to speech generates audio from written text using pre-recorded fragments or a synthetic model, with no live performer involved. A human AI voice actor is a real person, directed and recorded specifically for your project, offering consistency, warmth, and creative control that synthetic audio can’t fully replicate.

Do you license your voice for AI training or voice cloning?

No. I don’t hand my voice over for open ended AI training or cloning. I do perform AI styled characters and systems, and I’m open to recording specific, scoped prompts for real conversational systems under clearly agreed upon terms.

Can you record prompts for a real conversational AI or IVR system?

Yes, within a clearly defined scope. Every project like this is discussed in advance, with fair terms around how the recordings will be used, in line with industry standards around consent, control, and compensation.

How do I get started?

Reach out through my quote request page or contact page with your project details, and I’ll respond within 24 to 48 hours.
