I’m Shannon Scott. A professional underwater model, mermaid performer, and visual storytelling collaborator based in Central Florida. My career began in 2011 at Ripley’s Aquarium and grew through SeaWorld Orlando, where I performed breath-held routines for audiences from around the world. Today I collaborate with photographers, filmmakers, and brands who want something genuinely extraordinary beneath the surface.

Where do you typically shoot?
I’m based in Central Florida and regularly work in natural springs, local pools, and controlled studio water tanks. I’m fully passport-ready and available for domestic and international travel. Florida’s crystal-clear springs are among the most photographed underwater locations in the world, and my home base.
How long can you hold your breath?
My comfortable working breath hold ranges from 45 seconds to over a minute of active performance time: meaning posing, moving, and responding to direction, not just drifting. I always surface before urgency, which is what allows sustained, quality takes rather than rushed grabs.
Can I hire you for brand or commercial work?
Yes, absolutely! Commercial and brand work is a core part of what I do. I collaborate with creative directors, photographers, and production companies on fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and conceptual campaigns. Reach out with your brief and let’s build something extraordinary.
Do you require a safety diver on set?
Yes. A qualified safety diver is non-negotiable on every set. This isn’t a limitation; it’s what makes long, quality takes possible. A safety diver stationed at depth means I can focus entirely on the performance rather than managing risk. Any reputable production should insist on the same.
Are you insured and certified?
Yes. I maintain professional performer insurance and hold safety training specific to underwater environments including water safety, emergency response, and freediving protocols.
